ABOUT THE HCI

Future library

The History Communication Institute is committed to the effective and ethical distribution of information about the past in the 21st century that leverages the full array of media and communications technologies available today and in the future.

Founded in 2021, the HCI represents a diverse range of individuals  across civil society, government, journalism, and academia who recognize that the impact of technology on our understandings of history have been profound, and that we must co-create a future of history together in order to ensure accurate information based on evidence and to serve the educational needs of an informed public.

We are guided by five pillars: Community, Funding, Training, Consulting, and Research.

Together, we can create a media literate and historically literate public utilizing the array of communications tools available to us, in ways that ensure history’s vital role to society. Join us.
